The 84th Texas Legislative Session
How Did it Go?
The 84th Legislative Session is almost done, but for us it is over. Let's look at how things went and think about what we can do differently next session.
SCR 2 by Senator Rodney Ellis was reintroduced early. It was sent to the State Affairs Committee where Senator Ellis was vice chair. Despite this the resolution didn't get a hearing. TUTA supporters were asked to call and email the Committee Members asking for a hearing but without success.
TUTA supporters sent a letter to Representative Senfronia Thompson urging her to resubmit her resolution from last session (formerly HCR 21) and she did, whether that was a response to our request is not clear. HCR 49 was sent to Federal Powers & Responsibilities Committee
