City government:
Round Rock has a Council-Manager form of government. Under this form of government, the City Council establishes the city’s goals and policies. The City Council appoints a full-time city manager to achieve the desired end set by the city council. The manager oversees the day-to-day activities of the city, all city departments, and executes council established laws and policies.
The City Council is composed of six council members and a mayor all elected at-large, for a three-year staggered term. Council members appoint the mayor pro-tem annually.
