A few corporations have grown to dominate the credit card business. Now they are insulating themselves from redress of grievances, not only from card holders but also now from the businesses that must use their services in today's market. Am Ex set the rules and the Supreme Court (in a 5-3 ruling) says that everyone else must obey them. The constitutional principle of 'Equal Justice' no longer applies. Justice Elena Kagan, writing for the dissenters, said that as a result of the ruling, "The monopolist gets to use its monopoly power to insist on a contract effectively depriving its victims of all legal recourse."

The Growing Trans-partisan Opposition to Citizens United
A new report highlights more than 100 Republican officials who support a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision, along with dozens more who have publicly criticized it.
111 Republicans who have called for an amendment to overturn Citizens United;
9 Republicans who have criticized Citizens United for its claim that corporations have constitutional rights; and:
10 more Republicans who have criticized Citizens United in more general terms.
The total to date is 130 Republican officials, prominent at the federal or state level, who oppose Citizens United.
