ABOUT MOJI AGHA:
Mojtaba Aghamohammadi (Moji Agha) is an Iranian-American Sufi monk, with extensive training and experience in cultural psychology and conflict resolution. He has been a peace, justice, human rights, and Mother Earth activist for decades. He founded the Mossadegh Legacy Institute which promotes American nonviolence. Moji also founded other organizations and projects, including the International Institute to Study Climate Change in the Islamic World, the Universal Coalition for Interfaith and Intercultural Knowledge and Action, and its active project, the Simple Peace Vigil.
Moji has made integrated contributions to the Move to Amend and Occupy Movements, and has been active in Iranian non-violent struggles for democracy, justice and moderation, in part due to his Sufi sensibility of naturally understanding the oneness of all beings.
He has a unique psycho-culturally informed perspective on how we can (and should) help foster a more harmonious and nonviolent global struggle against injustice, war, and the suicidal destruction of our Mother Earth. This perspective has resulted in Moji's most recent "America for Nonviolence" project.

ABOUT THE TOUR:
The 2013-2014 tour was mounted to mark the 60th anniversary of the overthrow of the beloved and democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh of Iran. Moji's speaking engagements have provided his American audience with fresh insights about the still unfolding consequences of the CIA's 1953 coup that threw Iran (and the Middle East) off the path toward nonviolent democracy and destabilized the region. The US Government acted against the Iranian Prime Minister to protect the interests of powerful oil corporations.
In each gathering of the “Mossadegh Awareness Begets American Nonviolence” tour Moji discusses
a) The life and legacy of Dr. Mossadegh
b) The paralysis of relations between the U.S. and Iran (and throughout the region) resulting from the 1953 coup
c) How "We the People" can foster sanity in foreign policy by engaging in the "Circles of American Nonviolence"

ABOUT THE MOSSADEGH LEGACY INSTITUTE:
Founded in 2012, the Mossadegh Legacy Institute is a non profit organization dedicated to building global nonviolence and reconciliation, by awakening an interest in the life and legacy of Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh
Only by understanding "what might have been" under the democratic and pluralistic government of Dr. Mossadegh would the people of the U.S. and Iran be empowered to beget a middle road to peace, an enchanted land of common ground, instead of Iran (and a Middle East) under corporate-controlled foreign domination, a brutal, U.S imposed Shah, dictatorships throughout the region, and so- called “radical clerics” found today.
